Project Title: 2016 Ford Transit Connect: Audio System Repair & Modernization

Challenge: A client brought their commercial vehicle to us with a completely non-functional audio system. Not only was the driver unable to listen to music, but the lack of a modern, hands-free system posed a safety and convenience issue for their daily work.

Our Solution: After a full diagnostic, we quickly identified the factory head unit as the source of the problem. Instead of simply replacing the faulty unit with an outdated OEM part, we offered a solution that would solve the current problem and provide a significant technology upgrade.

We installed a new Sony XAV-AX3700 digital multimedia receiver. This unit features a vibrant touchscreen and powerful internal processing. To ensure a seamless integration with the vehicle’s existing wiring and steering wheel controls, we used the iDatalink Maestro SR module. This critical component allowed us to maintain factory functionality while communicating with the new Sony head unit.

Key Features of the Installation:

• Problem Solved: The new head unit and wiring module restored full sound functionality to the vehicle.

• Apple CarPlay Integration: The driver now has the full functionality of Apple CarPlay, providing safe, hands-free access to navigation, phone calls, and music streaming.

• Factory Feature Retention: The iDatalink Maestro SR module ensured that the vehicle's factory features were retained and integrated with the new head unit.

• Modernization: The old, broken system was replaced with a modern, reliable, and user-friendly interface that will serve the client for years to come.

Outcome: The client left with a fully functional audio system that not only works perfectly but also provides a major technology upgrade, making their driving experience safer and more enjoyable.
